Origreen has managed to get hold of some very special and incredibly beautiful, hand -painted Gaiwans in porcelain from Japan. We have them in three different colors/motifs. This Gaiwan shows deer motif. They can withstand both dishwasher and microwave. They can contain 120 ml. The size means that the cup is also perfect as a regular teacup. The saucer is so large that there can easily be a small piece of chocolate, a cookie or the like. A really nice, and very useful set.
Gaiwan is a practical and elegant accessory to prepare and drink clean, loose tea leaves. It is mainly designed for tea preparation, but it can also be used as a cup. Gaiwan consists of a cup without a handle, a saucer and a lid.
How to use a Gaiwan:
Place the cup on the saucer, add your favorite tea in the cup and fill it with proper water temperature of the tea and let it soak. To drink directly from the Gaiwan: Take the saucer with one hand and hold with the other hand on the lid to prevent the leaves from leaving the cup while drinking.
It may take some time to master this technique, but when you are familiar with the technique, you will enjoy the art of Gong Fu Teremony.
Size: Height 85 mm / Ø 110 mm.
