Origreen's Tetsubin teapots are glazed with enamel on the inside to make them more practical for brewing tea and cleaning. Therefore, it is not possible to heat this type of teapot directly over coals, as the enamel coating will be damaged by high heat.

How to care for your cast iron teapot:

• never heat over an open flame
• when using a stovetop, heat the teapot at a low temperature
• never heat in a microwave
• never put teapots or teacups in the dishwasher
• never use soap for cleaning. The teapot should only be cleaned with clean water
• do not leave tea or water in the pot and dry thoroughly after use
• always wipe the outside with a dry cloth while the pot is still warm
• avoid contact with salt
• never cool the teapot when it is still hot
• the teapot is enameled inside, so use kitchen utensils that do not scratch the enamel
