We are expanding our PU ERH range and we are happy to be able to present you to our PU ERH Tekage, as something completely new. This textage is tea that has been pressed hard together into a flat cake and wrapped in paper. Pu erh tea is often compressed into various shapes, including cakes and bricks, to help with the maturation process. This also makes it convenient for storage and transport. In ancient China, tea was transported on horseback to the more desolate areas. The teeth were suitable for this kind of transport as oxygen, bacteria and impurities had difficulty penetrating the hard cake, which meant that the teeth did not decay but continued to develop and even got better over the years.
Origre's Ecological Pu Erh Tekage "Yongde" originates from the Yongde area of Yunnan Province. The tea is grown at an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. The climate is subtropical highlands, with mild temperatures as well as distinctive wet and dry seasons. The harvest, which takes place by hand, begins at the end of February until in March, and you can harvest until several times during the summer. After the harvest, the texture-rich leaves are exposed to high temperatures and steaming to speed up the fermentation process of the leaves and the tea is pressed into cakes. This develops the traditional, sweet taste and bright color that the tea is famous for. The aroma is earthy, sweet and with a touch of vanilla. The taste is well balanced and comfortable. The cake contains 100 grams of texture-rich leaves. The cake continues to ferment and develop flavor for decades, for more intense shades.
Put the teeth on your tea hill and use a PU ERH knife to gently loosen the amount of tea you want to use. Keep the teeth in its original packaging or loosen the entire teeth and store the tea in a dark, airtight container.
Pu Erh should be brewed after gong-fu the way in a gaiwan, glazed teapot, or a small clay pot that is not used for other types of tea. Take off the boiler at the same moment the water starts to boil - it must not boil. Use a teaspoon of tea (3-5 grams) per cup (250 ml). Rinse the tea leaves by pouring boiling water over them and then discard the water.
Brew the tea with new, hot water for up to 1-2 minutes to the first brew, and gradually increase the time to the subsequent brews. Drink slowly to enjoy the complex flavor of the tea. PU-ERH is particularly suitable for finishing a good meal.
