Shigaraki ceramics are made in Shigaraki Town, Koka City, Shiga Prefectur.

Ceramics from this area follow a story rich in culture and traditional techniques that diminish more than 1200 years. Especially for ceramics from this area is the slightly rough surface, which contains fine stone grains.

All this is expressed in this fine matcha bowl. It is very harmonious and the lighter colors are like 'ironed' with a brush. Everything is needlework. It also means that the size and glaze of the bowl itself may well differ quite a bit from the picture shown. 

This matcha dish contains 0.6 L. 

Bowls for Matcha are called "Chawan" and are an important and indispensable part of a matcha tea ceremony. The most important quality of a matcha bowl is sufficient space to whip the matcha in and drink the tea off.

Does not tolerate dishwasher.
