Mint tea is a blend green and black tea that is added to aromatic mint and sweet herbs to achieve the right flavor. A fresh, soft and delicate tea that can be enjoyed warm or cold and which can be sweetened with cane sugar. Mint Teen is a classic in the Arab world and fits well with a hot summer day.
Both the green and the black tea come from Chaplon's plantation in Passara, located in the UVA district of Sri Lanka. The green tea is a sancha type that is harvested late, cooled, rolled, steamed and dried. The long processing makes the tea soft in taste. The black tea is our version of Pekoe, which is a very fine top shoot quality with a low tannic acid content.
