Organic Hibiscus herbal tea is made of whole, hand -picked hibiscus leaves (calyces/beaker leaves). The herbal tea has an intense ruby red color in the cup and invites with a refreshing fruity taste that can be enjoyed both hot and cold, and it does not contain caffeine but is filled with vitamin C and minerals and is used as a traditional mild medicine.
The taste of organic hibiscus is fresh, sour and looks like cranberry juice and fits well with sugar, cinnamon and a little nutmeg. In Central America, hibiscuste is also enjoyed and goes by the name "Flor de Jamaica" - Jamaica's flower.
The Hibiscus Flower (Hibiscus Sabdariffa) is found in tropical climates around the world, including Africa, Central and South America, Mexico and the Caribbean. It has a long history of use in both kitchen and healing, especially in a number of African countries where it was first cultivated. It is believed that the hibiscus flower came to the western world via African slave ships.
Today, hibiscuste is popular in Mexico and Central America. In the Caribbean, hibiscuste is sometimes combined with a number of other herbs to create a cooled, spicy holiday drink. Asian cool so cultures typically also take hibiscuste as a cold drink, especially in Thailand.
Brew hibiscus herbal tea in a preheated torture - preferably with lime -free water. Take off the boiler when the water starts to boil. Use 3-5 grams per cup (2 dl) and pour the water over the leaves immediately. Let the tea pull for 6-10 minutes under a tea cap.
