Chawamushi means steamed food in a teacup in Japanese. Chawan (茶碗) means teacup, and mushi (蒸し) means steamed. These traditional cups with lids are often used to serve food in, typically an egg cream with chicken or shrimp in. 

This Chawanmushi cup with an arbitrary pattern in black and gray is decorated with a blue overglaze in organic brush strokes on the cup itself and the lid.

Also used as a traditional teacup that at home may add a touch of authentic Japan. A beautiful teacup that fits both modern and traditional surroundings.

Important: The cup should not be heated in microwave. Should be washed up by hand.
