Chawamushi means steamed food in a teacup in Japanese. Chawan (茶碗) means teacup, and mushi (蒸し) means steamed. These traditional cups with lids are often used to serve food in, typically an egg cream with chicken or shrimp in.
This CHAWANBUSHI cup in ceramics comes in two beautiful color variants:
1) Cup and lid have a dark olive green color with an overglaze in turquoise blue and green colors.
2) Cup and lid have a red/brown color with striped brush strokes in an olive green color.
Also used as a traditional teacup that at home may add a touch of authentic Japan. A beautiful teacup that fits both modern and traditional surroundings.
The cup contains approx. 175 ml. The red/brown holds approx. 10 ml more.
Does not withstand dishwasher or microwave.
